Good work? What good work?

Once again, the Chronicle cheerleads for Metro.

The MTA president says that the TranStar traffic center was great during hurricane Rita. I guess that seeing miles of unending taillights of stopped cars is a great triumph in his eyes. What else did TranStar do, other than showing the stopped traffic? I've seen harbors with cars lined up cheek-to-jowl like I saw as I sat home that day. How did TranStar allieve any of the traffic?

This probably IS a great achievement in Metro's eyes... after all, they think the Whambam Tram is a good deal too.

Note that government is paying for the expansion in this "cooperative" government facility.
