Why did this happen?

Once again, Texas judges are letting known and confessed murderers off the hook.

Let me tell you some things I remember from these murders:

The two girls were cutting through a park on the way home. They came upon guys doing a gang initiation. They were gang-raped and killed with their own shoelaces. The murderers bragged about it afterwards.

And this guy has confessed to a third murder! Cruel and unusual?! This has been thrown out so many times that this can be nothing but more judicial "rule by fiat." Obviously they found a judge who is against the death penalty. Probably a Clintoon appointee.

This is injustice for the victims and the victims' families.

I can't wait for these guys to be punished, yet, I am for the rule of law. If not for the rule of law, many jurors would have second thoughts. Thank god for appeals because once they have run their course, justice is done. Hopefully, these guys will get their just desserts.

God bless the victims and their families.

Wino, I hope you don't edit posts, because my only response is "What kind of shit is this?" How does a single court get to determine all by itself that lethal injection constitutes "cruel and unusual punishment"? What happened to the sort of "settled law" that justifies abortions?

I'd prefer no profanity, but I won't interfere unless it becomes distasteful or gratuitous.

I'd prefer no more than a PG-13 rating, more or less.

I know.. the judge is out of line, and knows it. Personal views interfering with an oath, once again, in the judiciary. Why not? The SCOTUS can let foreign law influence their decisions? What else can possibly out of bounds for lower courts?

OK, so I won't post anything like the rant I tested the waters with over at Shakey's blog. I still find this insane. "Cruel and Unusual" is what the victims suffered...

Oh...okay...but there wouldn't be a punishment cruel enough for the perpetrators!
