Domo Arigato (phonetically, anyway)

Japanese Feel North Korean Peril

Not enough has been said about our Japanese allies.

They have been handling themselves with dignity and forthright discussions throughout all of the recent Middle East, terrorist, and biological happenings.

An honorable partner is hard to find. I put Germany and France, and most (if not all) of Europe, likewise into this category.

Japan has gone the extra mile in handling itself. It has both supported and withdrawn support. It has opposed us and has allied with us or sided with us, many times. Each time, though, it did so with open and honest opinion.

We bashed Japan in the 1980's. I think it's time to recognize them for the allies they have been. I would put them nearly into the category where I put England and Australia.

Thank, Japan. You have been friends when others were not so friendly.

And I might add, it is the Australian forces who were brought in to protect the Japanese in Iraq in this current conflict....just a point.

Read the second-to-last paragraph again. It says that I put Japan "nearly into the category where I put England and Australia."

My bad! I guess I was just blinded by Japan's arrogance over its continued desire to callously harpoon whales in and around our waters. Back in the 1940s they wanted our they want the whales that cruise our coastline...for 'research'!

I'll put my glasses on the next time...and not my 'rose-coloured' ones!

You are absolutly right. Also right about Australia (thanks Lee). We have so very few real allies left in the world, that we should cherish all we have, including Japan and Australia.
