Even More To It
This kid probably killed his mother and brother, and probably tried to kill his father as well. But the Chronicle Story doesn't tell everything that is involved.
Let me tell you something that isn't reported in the papers, and something I've seen nowhere else.
Bart's girlfriend was my daughter's roommate at Sam Houston State University around the time of these slayings. She was a very sweet, beautiful girl who had just a week or two earlier donated her very, very long strawberry blonde hair to the Locks of Love nonprofit organization, for no other reason than she wanted to help those who are disadvantaged. Her hair was down to her waist, and afterwards, it wasn't much more than just a shag.
Anyway, her truck was mysteriously run off highway 45 and rolled over, killing her instantly about two or three weeks before this occurred. I think Bart was involved in this, too.
This kid is plain evil. His father doesn't want him to get the death penalty, but I hope he does. Evil like this shouldn't be allowed to exist.

It would appear he is the devil incarnate. And from what you say a beautiful young woman lost her life because she crossed paths with him...such a sad thing to have happened.
I've always wondered if maybe she knew what he was planning, and that's why she was killed. Of course, there was no way to prove this guy was anywhere in the vicinity, and maybe he wasn't involved.
My daughter thought he was involved even before this attack on his family. I'm glad that at least in this case, she knew a bad character when she met one.
Some have a 'black/dark' soul and it can be sensed. Well, speaking for myself, I've sensed it in a few.
The husband of a friend of mine was such a person. I never liked or trusted him...and he was aware of my feelings towards him. His wife, my friend, was a gentle, lovely lass. I always felt she was "under his thumb". I've seen him flirt outrageously in her presence, to the extent one evening at a pool party we all were attending, I 'called him out' and told him what I thought of him, in front of the woman he had his hands all over. He was/is a very sly person and he reminded me of my step-father whom, also I couldn't abide.
His wife, my friend, was also killed in a tragic, very questionable, road accident. I will never be convinced he didn't have a hand in it. I was living in North Queensland when I was told of the 'accident' and my first thought and response was what his involvement was. I'll never be convinced he didn't have a hand in her death.
I think that when a person has a good soul and the joy and light is within you and you get around evil people their darkness is illuminated for the good people to see and to be warned to stay away. It is like those little hairs on the back of the neck that warn you sometimes or at least warn me.
