Not Quite the Best Buy
How would you like it if you went on the internet and found a really good buy, only to find when you went to the store that the price on the website was more than you thought? Maybe you should check for yourself when you get home again, if it happens.
Best Buy admits to having a fake website with higher prices, but only accessible to its employees.
Caveat Emptor... But from a national company like Best Buy? Who would've thunk it?
Best Buy admits to having a fake website with higher prices, but only accessible to its employees.
State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal ordered the investigation into Best Buy's practices on Feb. 9 after my column disclosed the website and showed how employees at two Connecticut stores used it to deny customers a $150 discount on a computer advertised on BestBuy.com.I don't like buying appliances at Best Buy because they don't deliver what they promise, plain and simple, but I never thought they'd stoop to false advertising.
Blumenthal said Wednesday that Best Buy has also confirmed to his office the existence of the intranet site, but has so far failed to give clear answers about its purpose and use.
"Their responses seem to raise as many questions as they answer," Blumenthal said in an interview. "Their answers are less than crystal clear."

Talk about dumb and dumber!!!!
Christmas shopping I was making a telephone purchase at Sears Holiday Hotline, and became annoyed because my delivery instructions were being avoided and said "I want to cancel this order", Sears said "you cant' do that".
It is in dispute to this day.
Best Buy is the least obnoxious store of that type of store. Makes shopping for appliances sort of like picking a current republican candidate. /sarc off...sort of
off to check out the new site. Thanks for all the interesting threads on this one.

I haven't decided if I'm going to shut down this blog, gto... I probably will, eventually, but we hope to make the other blog more of a community effort among folks of similar views.
nat,
Don't get me started on "disputes with companies." I have about three of them where I've proven several times that I'm right, and have gotten my credit card company to cancel the charges... yet the charges are reinstated the following month.
I hate Verizon and AT&T and Montgomery Wards (oh, wait... they're out of business, aren't they?)...
I stopped doing Sears at least 10 years ago.
I think I get the gist of where ya'll are going with the new blog. I will continue to follow this blog for your stories and the strangler's for her recipes and life in the land of Oz. :)
I resemble that remark, Gto! ;)
